Studies of populations of women suffering from infertility associated with adenomyosis after in vitro fertilization (IVF) and/or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) — IVF/ICSI, as well as after surgical treatment of patients with deep adenomyosis have shown that adenomyosis in both cases has negative impact on reproductive outcome, although there are significant differences in these populations. There are relatively few data on the degree of influence of the depth of the lesion on the realization of the reproductive function, however, a significant correlation was re-vealed between them, according to the literature. The beneficial effect of treatment with gonado-tropin-releasing hormone agonists followed by surgical treatment of adenomyosis has also been described in several literature sources, but controlled studies on this topic have not been conduct-ed. Many studies do not meet the reliability criteria due to the lack of fulfillment of clear criteria for the inclusion and exclusion of patients from the study. The choice of the optimal treatment options for patients with adenomyosis based on actual data is difficult due to the lack of reliable evidence of a relationship between fertility and the degree of adenomyosis. However, it is known that adenomyosis can reduce the likelihood of successful implantation so dramatically that surgi-cal or other treatment options may be warranted. At the same time, it is necessary to assess the possible positive effect of the treatment options available in the doctor’s arsenal. Thus, the deci-sive importance for the successful implementation of reproductive function in patients with sus-picion or with an established diagnosis of adenomyosis in combination with a recurrent miscar-riage, refusing to use assisted reproductive technologies, may have their timely referral to special-ized treatment patients with adenomyosis medical clinics. This review analyzes the relationship between infertility and adenomyosis, and also examines studies of reproductive outcomes in dif-ferent types of surgical treatment of patients with infertility and adenomyosis.
