Doctors who start working after initial accreditation feel the need for optimal conditions and terms of professional adaptation. It is crucial to consider the potential professional risks of the adaptation period, which can decrease the performance of specialists and, consequently, their satisfaction with their work during this period.
OBJECTIVE
To study the factors and their influence on the satisfaction of doctors starting work with their work during professional adaptation.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The study included general practitioners and local pediatricians, who began to work after initial accreditation in the Zabaykalsky Krai. A comprehensive study of the working conditions of doctors was conducted using data from a sociological survey. The possible influence of factors of working conditions on the satisfaction of specialists with their work was investigated, with an assessment of the statistical significance of each factor.
RESULTS
The following factors affect the satisfaction of local service doctors with their work at the beginning of their careers: lack of professional adaptation measures (F=3.187, p=0.004), unfavorable psychosocial climate (F=2.94, p=0.005), poor working conditions (F=3.832, p=0.001), etc. The measures taken for the professional adaptation of specialists are not comprehensive and do not have a statistically significant effect on the satisfaction of doctors with their work (p>0.05). It was noted that satisfaction was higher among doctors with less work experience (Me=0.8 months, p=0.011), but they required a longer period of psychological adaptation (Me=6.0 months, p=0.042).
CONCLUSION
The results of the study indicate the presence of difficulties encountered by local service specialists in the workplace. The effect of motivational and demotivational factors on the satisfaction of doctors with their work was confirmed. Additionally, it was found that doctors required professional and psychological adaptation during the first months of employment.
