Optimal myocardial protection is a key component of successful cardiac surgery. Despite the diverse data on cardioplegia, there is no clear consensus on solution and technique of cardioplegia in different patients. This review analyzes literature data on efficacy and safety of del Nido cardioplegia in adult cardiac surgery.
