Intimate contour plasty (ICP) as a part of aesthetic gynecology is becoming more and more in demand among female patients. There is a large number of publications on this topic, but the evidence of effectiveness and safety of the procedure is insufficient.
To analyze domestic and foreign publications reporting the use of fillers in aesthetic gynecology, to evaluate the features of their composition, efficacy and undesirable phenomena.
Search of publications in Russian and foreign search engines using keywords. The search depth was 10 years. 46 scientific papers were selected for analysis.
The analysis of publications showed that the use of fillers in gynecology is aimed at replenishment of soft tissue volumes and elimination of aesthetic and functional defects, which allows to restore visual attractiveness of intimate zones, to improve sexual function and quality of life in women with urinary disorders. The main advantages and disadvantages of preparations for augmentation of skin and mucous membranes are revealed. Indications and contraindications for the use of fillers are revealed. The technology of their introduction, safety, side effects and methods of their elimination are described. Scientific studies devoted to the development and evaluation of the effectiveness of ICP methods are diverse, but evidence-based results are few, there are no clear recommendations on the choice of fillers, their doses and the implementation of interventions according to specific tasks.
Well-designed randomized controlled trials are needed to develop recommendations for clinical practitioners based on their data.
