AIM OF STUDY
Study of clinical efficacy of the plant complex «NefroBest», registered as a biologic active supplement, to optimize the therapy of pregnant women with asymptomatic bacteriuria (AB).
MATERIAL AND METHODS
The examination and treatment of 52 pregnant women with asymptomatic bacteriuria were carried out. The examination included bacterioscopic examination of smear for microflora, molecular biological examination of vaginal contents (Femoflor test) and urine (bacteriological examination, general urine analysis), ultrasound of the kidneys. The study of therapy compliance was carried out through a questionnaire survey of patients. In group 1 (n=32), along with antibiotic therapy, «NefroBest» was prescribed 1 capsule 2 times a day, up to 3 months; in group 2 (n=20), along with antibiotic therapy, canephron N, 2 tab. 3 times a day, up to 3 months
RESULTS
It was revealed that the use of method of combined treatment of pregnant women with AB using of a domestic herbal complex «NefroBest» against the background of antibacterial therapy for 3 months led to a stable remission and the absence of recurrence.
CONCLUSIONS
The revealed positive correlations between AB and bacterial vaginosis (r=+0.743 at p=0.001) dictate the need to include examination of the reproductive tract and treatment of patients with asymptomatic bacteriuria. For the successful treatment of pregnant women with bacteriuria against the background of antibacterial therapy, it is more expedient, effective, convenient and economical to use the phytocomplex «NefroBest» 1 caps. 2 times a day for up to 3 months. Combined therapy with the phytocomplex «NefroBest» was characterized by a faster normalization of indicators of the general urine analysis and the absence of microflora growth according to the results of bacteriological research compared with the inclusion of canephron N in therapy, which required the use of shorter regimens
