Objective — to evaluate the efficiency of symptomatic systemic pharmacotherapy with diosmin-containing drugs (Phlebodia 600) in pregnant women with pain syndrome and vulvar and perineal varicosities. Subject and methods. Examinations were made in 310 pregnant women aged 17 to 41 years with and varicose veins in the perineum and external genitalia in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Bursting perineal pain was the leading reason why 202 pregnant women visited a phlebologist. 192 pregnant women received diosmin 600 mg/day (Phlebodia 600) for pain relief. The pregnant women independently assessed the intensity of pain syndrome, by using a Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Results. The follow-up results may suggest that diosmin (Phlebodia 600) has a positive effect on the subjective and objective manifestations of varicose veins of the perineum and external genitals in pregnant women. In this case, its efficacy depends on the degree of pain syndrome at the beginning of pharmacotherapy and its duration. No side effects, including pregnancy and labor complications, were observed during the investigation. Conclusion. It is advisable to more actively and early use pharmacotherapy with diosmin-based phlebotropic drugs (Phlebodia 600) in patients with pain syndrome and isolated vulvar and perineal varicosities during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, as well as to further monitor with the planned elimination of residual varicose veins with minimally invasive techniques in the non-pregnant state.
