Abstract:

Objective — to enhance the efficiency of color Doppler ultrasound mapping used in the diagnosis of ovarian masses in pregnant women. Subject and methods. Color Doppler ultrasound mapping was carried out in 276 pregnant women with ovarian masses in the first, second, and third trimesters of pregnancy. The findings were compared with the results of histological examination. Results. The diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound mapping in the determination of borderline and malignant tumors was 100%, in that of benign ovarian tumors and tumor-like masses was 91.2 and 67.2%, respectively. Corpus luteum and paraovarian cysts are the most challenging in determining the pattern of ovarian masses. Conclusion. The findings could apply a personalized approach to defining the management tactics for pregnant women with ovarian masses. The authors declare no conflicts of interest.
