Abstract:

The paper describes a case of aldosteronism in a pregnant woman with the similar biochemical changes in the newborn. It discusses various causes of hypokalemia as the most prominent sign of aldosteronism. Based on the data available in the literature, the authors conclude that the patient with intrahepatic cholestasis has developed Bartter's syndrome that is secondary normotensive hyperrenin-hyperaldosteronism.
