OBJECTIVE

To determine the influence of various degrees of pathozoospermia on IVF outcomes.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

185 infertile couples undergoing treatment with IVF were examined. The study group included 102 couples with male factor infertility. The control group consisted of 83 infertile couples with normal partner ejaculate values. The classification of pathozoospermia according to severity was used in the work.

RESULTS

The cumulative frequency of implantation, the onset of uterine and clinical pregnancies in the study and control groups did not differ statistically. The study group was analyzed, predictors of IVF success were identified. A correlation was established between the degree of pathozoospermia and the frequency of implantation and the onset of uterine pregnancy.

CONCLUSION

The conducted study revealed the significance of the proposed classification for clinical practice, since it offers a practical tool that allows the physician to predict the outcomes of IVF programs for various degrees of impaired spermatogenesis.
