Abstract:

RELEVANCE

Monitoring of the dental health of the pediatric population in Chapayevsk from 1995 to 2022 revealed a trend of increasing prevalence and severity of dental caries after the cessation of preventive dental programs in 2005.

OBJECTIVE

To substantiate the need for optimizing dental care for children in Chapayevsk based on a SWOT analysis.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

The analysis of the pediatric dental service utilized data from dental health monitoring conducted between 1995 and 2022. A SWOT analysis was used to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of dental care for the pediatric population, identify opportunities for improvement, and determine internal and external threats.

RESULTS

The SWOT analysis demonstrated the need to improve dental health among the pediatric population by introducing health-saving technologies to promote healthy lifestyle habits in organized children’s groups with the involvement of parents and primary healthcare staff, even under conditions of limited healthcare funding.
