Modern diagnostic methods of olfactory dysfunction

OBJECTIVE

Generalization and analysis of publications on the evaluation of modern methods of olfaction examination effectiveness.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The analysis of publications (articles and related abstracts) presented in the PubMed database for the last 5 years has been conducted. The data choice was carried out according to the keywords: olfactory impairment, olfactory dysfunction, research methods, fMRI, tractography.

RESULTS AND CONCLUSION

The study and visualization of the structures and functions of the central nervous system is a promising direction, allowing to objectify the features of the olfactory analyzer activity normally and in pathology.
