Stroke during pregnancy is a rare but devastating complication that increases maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. According to the literature the incidence of pregnancy-associated stroke is increasing. This is facilitated by physiological changes during gestation, pregnancy complications, and diseases of the cardiovascular system. One of the reasons for the development of hemorrhagic stroke during pregnancy may be ruptures of cavernous malformations.
