Abstract:

Combinations of extensive purulent lesions of the mediastinum and abdominal wall in pediatric cardiac surgery are formidable infectious postoperative complications with high risk of mortality. In this report, we present negative pressure therapy as the most effective modern method for the treatment of sternomediastinitis and abdominal wall abscess with simultaneous endocardial pacemaker implantation in a young child.
