According to oncologists, colon cancer ranks second among causes of death in the world. Digestive cancer is also common. The 2020 research reported 1.9 million new cases and more than 930ё,000 deaths from colorectal cancer. Oncologists expect an increase in this cancer incidence by more than 60% by 2040 to reach 3.2 million new cases and a growth in mortality by more than 70% to reach 1.6 million. Modern diagnostics and screening at the PHC level can contribute to early verification of oncological pathology and reduce the risk of developing complicated forms. The presented clinical case depicts the early detection of a sigmoid polyp as a way to prevent cancer development. This observation demonstrates the importance of screening activities at the outpatient stage for detecting pre-cancers. Regular screening, particularly medical checkups and timely visiting a polyclinic, can reduce the frequency of complicated forms and improve the patient’s quality of life.
