Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic abscess of the apocrine glands with rapid development of the inflammatory process and long course. The disease is accompanied by purulent nodes, edema and sensation of pain. Hidradenitis suppurativa is found in people of all ages and is a serious problem, especially in late diagnosis. The disease can be classified by severity and localization of skin lesion. Depending on this, the disease may be limited to one node or have multiple abscesses of varying development degrees — from superficial to deep. It is important to consider the severity of hidradenitis suppurativa when choosing a treatment method, because the prognosis and duration of remission depend on it. There are effective variants of symptomatic and conservative treatment, although the lack of therapy and recurrent nature complicate treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa. For example, it is possible to use isotretinoin successfully in mild cases, while a severe course may require surgical intervention or application of genetically engineered biological drugs. We describe the clinical case of the hidradenitis suppurativa, which remains a topical problem in the field of dermatovenereology and surgery and requires a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment.
