Abstract:

National and foreign data on the incidence of acute cerebrovascular accident following carotid endarterectomy, its mechanisms and methods for prevention of this event are reported in the manuscript. The authors discuss the main methods of early diagnosis of intraoperative stroke, conservative and surgical treatment of this complication.
