Abstract:

We analyzed patient requests and their financing at the Clinic for the Study and Treatment of Pain over the past decade (2011—2020). For 10 years, 241.427 patients with pain syndromes visited the clinic, every third one (32% or 77.012 people) suffered from chronic pain. There is a clear trend towards increase in the number of patients with chronic pain. The number of patients who received consultations in compulsory health insurance system tends to decrease (6030 patients in 2011 and 1163 patients in 2020), while the number of paid services is steadily increasing (2138 patients in 2011 and 4368 patients in 2020). This study actualizes not only the problem of chronic pain, but also modern limitations in availability of specialized pain care.
