Objective - to study the comparative efficacy of lactoginal and ecofemin used as part of combination therapy in patients with bacterial vaginosis and to evaluate the efficiency of lactoginal monotherapy. Subjects and methods. Ninety-two patients with bacterial vaginosis were examined. Among them, there were 32 patients who used dalacin cream 2% intravaginally, thereafter ecofemin capsules in the same manner; 30 patients who were treated with intravaginal dalagin cream, then lactoginal capsules vaginally; 30 patients had lactoginal capsules intravaginally after vaginal irrigation with isotonic sodium chloride. To evaluate the efficiency of treatment, the investigators analysed complaints and the data of objective examination, vaginal pH-metry, smear microscopy, and femoflor use after 1, 3, and 6 months after initiation of treatment. Results. Probiotics used in the treatment of patients with bacterial vaginosis substantially improve the results of therapy and promote the normalization of vaginal microbiocenosis. The choice of a probiotic used as part of combination therapy in patients with bacterial vaginosis should be determined by the activity of Lactobacillus strains incorporated into the drug. Conclusion. Assessing the long-term results of therapy, it is highly promising to use lactoginal as intravaginal pessaries as part of combination therapy or, in a number of cases, as monotherapy.
