The paper summarizes the results of published research articles setting forth the current viewpoint on the etiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and therapy of chronic endometritis (CE). The latter is considered as a clinical and morphological syndrome frequently detected in patients with recurrent miscarriage. The risk factors and classifications of CE and a package of diagnostic tests are given. Morphological criteria for CE are underlined. The authors state the principles of combination therapy obligatorily incorporating antibacterial antiviral and immunomodulatory agents (allokine-alpha), followed by the correction of the luteal phase during pregravid preparation with progesterones (duphaston).
