Endometriosis is a pathological process in which the presence of tissue is determined by morphological and functional properties similar to the endometrium outside the uterine cavity. The most common symptom of endometriosis is chronic pelvic pain.
To present literature data on the main aspects of the neuropathic component of pain and important points in the management of patients with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.
At present, a limited amount of data on the pathogenesis of chronic pelvic pain associated with endometriosis and early methods of its diagnosis are presented in domestic and foreign literature. Our task was to analyze the available sources, to identify the main promising areas for the diagnosis and treatment of pain in endometriosis.
Perspective in terms of diagnosing the diagnosis of endometriosis in chronic pelvic pain is the determination of the levels of neurotransmitters (dopamine, noradrenals) and genetic tests. The treatment of chronic pain should be aimed at eliminating the symptoms of central sensitization using the latest methods of treatment (transcaranial magnetic stimulation, virtual reality methods). Conclusions: An interdisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain will improve the effectiveness of treatment.
