Abstract:

The review deals with an update on the incidence, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of latent iron deficiency. It describes an association of this pathological condition with inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract in pregnant women, which leads to complicated pregnancy and poor perinatal outcomes.
