AIM

Study of the prevalence and determination of clinical manifestations of Kimmerle’s anomaly among patients with anomalies of occlusion of the dentition according to lateral cephalometry and CBCT using the ViSurgery Studio software.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The study involved 353 patients undergoing orthodontic treatment: 149 (42%) men and 204 (58%) women.Kimmerle anomaly was found in 20% of orthodontic patients with various malocclusion.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Analysis of statistics showed that bilateral Kimmerle’s anomaly is more common (54.2% of cases), while bilateral incomplete is more common (27.8%) than bilateral complete (25.0%) among patients with Kimmerle’s anomaly.

CONCLUSIONS

This will allow orthodontists to diagnose this anomaly and choose the tactic of further treatment counting the characteristics of the anomaly. Thus, the patient will get promptly reference to neurologist in case of detection.
