The purpose of the presented literature review is a comparative analysis of technical features and functional efficiency of traditional and endoscopic septoplasty. Material and methods. Review and expert evaluation of scientific publications in PubMed, Google Scholar databases, the content of which corresponds to the purpose of the study. Results and discussion. Data on modern concepts of endoscopic septoplasty and prospects of its use in children are presented. It has been shown that endoscopic septoplasty, despite its relatively small history, has proved to be an effective and safe method of rhinosurgery in adults. Given its low traumatism and precision, endoscopic septoplasty can be an optimal intervention for growing children’s noses, where radicalism and the destruction of supporting tissues are not tolerated. However, the data on this problem in paediatric practice is not enough and serious work on the use of the endoscope in operations on the septum of the nose in children is currently missing, which makes our planned study extremely promising and relevant in pediatrics.
