The problem of active and passive tobacco consumption has not lost its relevance despite the proven demographic, economic and sociomedical consequences on a global, national and individual level, negative impact on the health of the expectant mother and baby.
OBJECTIVE
To study the main methods of verifying tobacco and nicotine-containing products consumption, measuring consumer behavior and the possibility of using this data for smoking cessation among different population groups.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
A critical review of domestic and foreign scientific works published in eLibrary, Scopus, PubMed for 2018—2025, legal and regulatory framework, effective recommendations on methods of verification and measurement of the behavior of tobacco and nicotine-containing products consumers in different population groups was carried out.
RESULTS
Currently, the world community has developed an overall strategy guaranteeing the reduction of sociomedical risks — complete cessation of active smoking and minimization of passive. The introduction of intelligent systems for medical decision support into clinical practice of global health will allow to obtain an effective predictive analytics based on parameters that can be easily determined at the patient’s first visit and biomarkers of smoking.
CONCLUSION
The performed literature review indicates that the studied methods of verifying smoking and measuring consumer behavior can be used in global clinical practice for tobacco and nicotine-containing products consumption cessation among different population groups. Within the framework of eHealth, the integration of machine learning algorithms with large biomedical data into remote monitoring systems of the most promising demographic category of the population will allow to increase the effectiveness of the modern model of smoking prevention.
