There is a number of inconsistencies in the distribution of responsibilities for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of obesity among medical specialists in the current health care delivery procedure, health care standard and clinical guidelines on obesity treatment. This creates difficulties in the practical implementation of medical care for this group of patients and in personnel planning, prevents the establishment of rational system of the organization of medical care for obese patients.
OBJECTIVE
To analyze the staffing of healthcare organizations, providing primary specialized health care to patients with obesity, with endocrinologists, dieticians.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
A summary review of the main documents regulating the organization of health care delivery for obese patients. Indicators of staffing by dieticians and endocrinologists of healthcare organizations providing care in the outpatient setting and their average workload based on data from the «Resources and activities of healthcare providers. Medical personnel» collection and the forms of federal statistical monitoring №30.
RESULTS
Staffing with dieticians and endocrinologists providing primary health care amounted to 0.003 and 0.427‰, respectively. Coverage of full-time medical personnel positions of endocrinologists in 2023 was 90.5% with a secondary employment coefficient of 1.1; of dieticians — 59.0% with a secondary employment coefficient of 1.4. The average number of visits of 1 adult resident of the Russian Federation to a dietician was 0.0002, and to an endocrinologist — 0.1719.
CONCLUSION
The indicators of staffing of medical organizations, providing primary specialized health care for patients with obesity, with endocrinologists and dieticians indicate that changes in the staffing norms are necessary. The need to implement programs of continuing professional education in the field of dietetics for general physicians, district general physicians and general practitioners (family physicians) in order to improve the measures aimed at control of obesity and its prevention has been noted.
