OBJECTIVE

To study the effect of combined therapy of diabetic polyneuropathy on the long-term prevention of late complications of diabetes mellitus.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

We used statistical data on the overall incidence of diabetes mellitus, as well as data on the number of treated patients in a day hospital with diabetic polyneuropathy, the number of people observed by surgeons with trophic disorders from 2015—2018.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The impact of combined therapy with thioctic acid (Octolipen) and B group vitamins (Combilipen) on the emerging surgical complications in the long-term period in the attached population of the city polyclinic for 2015—2018.

CONCLUSIONS

With regular treatment in a day hospital for diabetic polyneuropathy, the risk of possible trophic complications is significantly reduced (p<0.001). As the number of treated patients increases, the subsequent frequency of visits to surgeons decreases.
