Abstract:

The study evaluated the influence of pharmacological correction with Adaptol in children with concomitant anxiety and autonomic disorders on the efficiency of basic treatment for asthma and on the achievement of its control. The study included patients with uncontrolled and partly controlled asthma (n=76) with and without comorbid anxiety disorders (n=39 and n=37). The study suggests that 2-month therapy with Adaptol 1000 mg/day has high anxiolytic, autonomic nervous system-normalizing, and antiasthenic activities and a positive effect in achieving asthma control. Relief of anxiety and autonomic disorders led to an increase in the efficiency of the basic treatment of asthma and was accompanied by a statistically significant reduction in the severity of allergic inflammation in the lower airways.
