Accessibility of health and preventive care for patients with bronchial asthma

To study the accessibility of health and preventive care in bronchial asthma, to determine the directions for improving the effectiveness of regular medical check-up of this category of patients.
An anonymous survey of 772 patients aged 12—65 years with bronchial asthma and their relatives/parents was using the Yandex-survey/questionnaire Internet resource was conducted. The analysis of the obtained results was performed using nonparametric research methods (IBM SPSS Statistics 21 package).
Women predominated among the respondents (79.8%), respondents aged 41—59 years (41.2%) demonstrated the highest activity. Most of the respondents did not smoke (74.9%), the proportion of former smokers amounted to 13.4%. More than half of the respondents (61.7%) noted a deterioration in asthma control over the past year, 54% experienced difficulties in receiving basic therapy. Low awareness on issues of modern therapy and severity criteria in bronchial asthma has been determined.
The results of the conducted survey of Russians demonstrate the need for large-scale informing of the asthmatic patients’ community in order to form a proactive position regarding their own health and increase the accessibility of sociomedical state guarantees.
