Abstract:

PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH

Is determination of relapse frequency among patients with operated 2-sided endometriotic ovarian cysts and specification of the repeated endometriomas impact on the ovarian reserve.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

For 131 infertile patients after 2-sided endometriotic ovarian cysts removal, the frequency of relapses was determined in relation to the duration of post-operative observation, and the impact of the newly formed endometriomas on the Anti-Mullerian Hormone level determined by the immunoenzyme method was analyzed.

RESULTS

For the patients with continued persistent infertility 2-sided endometriotic ovarian cysts removal, the frequency of relapses of the endometrioma at < and > 1 year after the surgery was 40% and 76%, respectively. Among women with recurrent endometriotic ovarian cysts, the incidence of the patients with moderate and extreme decreases in the Anti-Mullerian Hormone levels was 20% and 48% in ≤35-year-old group and 35% and 62% was in >35-year-old group.

CONCLUSION

Since recurrent endometriotic ovarian cysts have a pronounced negative impact on the ovarian reserve, all patients, planning to realize their reproductive function in the future, if required to perform a 2-sided endometriotic ovarian cysts excision, should be advised to form a reserve of oocytes / embryos prior to surgery using IVF-cryo technology.
