The article analyzes the literature data on the impact of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) on the health of offspring. It is concluded that the inconsistency of the data of different authors on the frequency of perinatal complications and congenital pathology in 'test — tube children' is due to defects in the methodological approach to the statistical processing of the results, first of all — the defective selection of comparison groups. According to the author the most reliable way to evaluate the role of directly procedures of assisted reproduction pregnancy outcomes, newborn condition and health of the offspring is to compare the health of groups of children of assisted reproduction with the health of children born from parents with 'subfertility' who became pregnant after a long period of infertility and other treatment methods. Under these conditions, differences in the health indicators of 'IVF children' and compared groups, as a rule, are leveled. This allows us to conclude that reliable and generally accepted evidence that the methods of ART can directly have an adverse effect on the health of the offspring, to date, has not been obtained. The health of the offspring conceived in vitro, as well as in vivo, is determined primarily by the health of parents, their diseases and age-related changes in the body that affect the implementation of the reproductive process and the development of the fetus at all stages of pregnancy.
