Objective. For prediction of pregnancy outcome in women with endometriosis, the density of nerve fiber (pgp 9.5), nucleus isoforms of ERs and PRs in eutopic endometrium were investigated. Material and methods. The eutopic endometrium of women with endometriosis before hormone and surgical treatment was obtained. The density of nerve fiber (pgp 9.5), the expression of ER-alpha, ER-beta, PR-A+B and PR-B were investigated with the help of immunohistochemistry. In one year after treatment the spontaneous pregnancies in some women were recorded. The results of immunohistochemistry in patients with endometriosis who did and did not become pregnant and healthy controls with proven fertility were compared. Results. There were no differences between two groups of patients with endometriosis regarding the severity of the disease or serum levels of IL-6, CA-125 or sex steroids, except for progesterone which level was slightly higher in women who failed to become pregnant within the follow-up period. The density of nervous fiber (pgp 9.5) was higher, PR-A+B and PR-B were down-regulated and ER-alpha was up-regulated in the women with endometriosis who did not become pregnant during the observation period vs patients who became pregnant, and the controls. Conclusion. The density of nerve fiber (pgp 9.5), ER-alpha, PR-A+B and PR-B can be used for evaluation of endometrial receptivity and prediction of pregnancy in patients with endometriosis.
