Abstract:

BACKGROUND

Diverticular appendix disease (DBA) is quite rare in the routine practice of a surgeon. In the acute stage, the clinical and instrumental signs of DBA, given this localization, can be interpreted as acute appendicitis. However, in case of accidental detection of diverticula, preventive appendectomy is recommended.

OBJECTIVE

In our work, we want to present a clinical case of diverticulum of the appendicular process in acute appendicitis.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A clinical case of diverticula of the appendicular process in acute appendicitis in the Pushkin Clinical Hospital named after Prof. Rozanov V.N.

RESULTS

Analysis of a clinical case, features of diagnosis and treatment.

CONCLUSION

The clinical picture of acute appendicitis is identical to that of diverticulosis of the appendix, and requires a more thorough medical history and examination, despite the common surgical treatment tactics.
