Abstract:

The author presents the results of her investigations into combined radiation, drug, and photodynamic treatment for melanoma metastases to the skin, soft tissues, and visceral organs, which developed late after management of the primary focus. One hundred and thirteen patients had melanoma metastases to the skin and soft tissues and 26 had those to the visceral organs, including 12 patients with solitary metastases to the lungs. The developed treatment algorithm for metastatic melanoma could improve immediate and late treatment outcomes. There was a significant improvement in quality of life and an increase in overall and metastasis-free survival.
