Abstract:

Sarcoidosis — systemic disease of unknown origin with chronic wave-like course. It is based on impairment of the immune function with specific responses of the body to the impact of various factors, as a result of which epithelioid cell granuloma, accompanied by the disturbance of structure and functions of the affected organs, develops. Epidemiology and clinical manifestations of sarcoidosis are different. Skin sarcoidosis is characterized by a polymorphism of rash, that complicates early diagnosis establishment. The diagnosis is confirmed by histological method. We present a case report of sarcoidosis of the skin with atypical clinical picture and differential search. The analysis of clinical data and results of immunohistochemical studies of the skin biopsy samples was performed. The features of skin sarcoidosis and possible pathogenetic mechanisms of the disease are discussed. The presented clinical observation of skin sarcoidosis shows diagnostic difficulties in presence of atypical skin manifestations. The diversity of skin forms of sarcoidosis will help us to better understand the clinical manifestations of this disease.
