Optimization of topical treatment of acne with allowance for the clinical types and current physiological condition of the patient is an important problem of dermatology related to personalized medicine methods. Objective — the study was aimed at investigating the effectiveness of zinc erythromycin complex and its combination with 0.1% adapalene in the topical treatment of clinical types of acne with allowance for physiological condition of the patient. Material and methods. We carried out the uncontrolled study of clinical efficacy and tolerability of zinc erythromycin complex or its combination with 0.1% adapalene in the topical treatment of clinical types of acne. Study group 1 included 9 females: pregnant, lactating, and awaiting pregnancy in the near future patients with mild to moderate papulopustular acne, who received monotherapy with topical zinc erythromycin complex. Group 2 included 14 patients with moderate papulopustular juvenile acne, who received complex topical therapy with zinc erythromycin complex and 0.1% adapalene. Results. In group 1 patients, who used zinc erythromycin complex on the regular basis, existing morphological elements were resolved and emergence of fresh eruptions was partially prevented on day 14 of treatment. In group 2 patients, acute inflammatory stage of the disease was resolved and relapses were prevented or moderated due to decrease in the number of inflammatory elements, open and closed comedones. Conclusion. Administration of zinc erythromycin complex for 12 weeks can be recommended in pregnant, lactating or awaiting pregnancy patients, who have mild to moderate papulopustular acne, as a safe fist line drug due to its rapid anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action. The combination of zinc erythromycin complex and 0.1% adapalene in the treatment of medium to severe papulopustular acne for 12 weeks followed by monotherapy with 0.1% adapalene prevents the development of new inflammatory elements and reduces the recurrence rate due to decrease in the number of closed and open comedones. It is an effective combination to achieve quick results and prevent relapses.
