Infantile hemangioma (IH) is one of the most common vascular tumors of childhood, which is diagnosed at birth or in the first days of life. IH is characterized by phasic course of the process, including the following stages: formation, proliferation, stabilization and involution. Most IHs are characterized by spontaneous regression and do not require active medical intervention. More rarely, rapid growth of IH can occur, which leads to marked cosmetic defects and disorders of vital functions. In these cases, timely treatment is required. There are various medicinal and surgical treatments, and each of them has its advantages and disadvantages, strict indications and contraindications. According to recent reports, the use of non-selective β-blocker propranolol is one of the most effective and modern treatments. This treatment provides the maximum acceptable cosmetic result.
