The treatment of acne as a multifactorial pathology remains a challenging problem in dermatovenerology. The present article describes the main pathogenetic mechanisms underlying the development of this disease and the indications for the prescription of its external therapy. Results of a clinical study of the efficacy and safety of the Acnol gel are presented. The study included 38 patients presenting with mild and moderately severe variants of acne. It has demonstrated high therapeutic efficiency and compliance of the prescribed treatment regime. The Acnol gel is recommended as a monotherapy to patients with mild acne and in combination with systemic (antiandrogenous and antibacterial agents) for the treatment of moderate and severe forms of the disease.
