Abstract:

OBJECTIVE

Assessment of the possibility and effectiveness of a tunnel technique in the treatment of a patient with Killian-Jamieson diverticulum.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The experience of endoscopic treatment of the patient 76 years with the Killian-Jamieson diverticulum, which entered the clinic with complaints of difficulties in passing any food and liquid, a putrefactive odor from the mouth, discomfort in the neck. According to endoscopic and radiological examination, Killian-Jamieson diverticulum was found with a delay in the contents in it. For the treatment of the patient, an endoscopic tunnel method of myotomy was used.

RESULTS

The duration of the operation was 60 minutes. To perform the intervention, tools were used for oral myotomy. There were no complications during the operation and the postoperative period. During X-ray on the 1st day after surgery, no contrast substance was detected. Food through the mouth is free, there are no complaints.

CONCLUSION

The technique of endoscopic tunneling in the treatment of patients with Killian-Jamieson diverticulum can be an alternative to standard operations due to high efficiency, safety and low trauma. Further accumulation of experience is required, evaluating the immediate and distant results of the treatment of patients of this category.
