Abstract:

Endovideosurgical peritoneal cavity revision revealed acute destructive appendicitis complicated by peritonitis, periappendiceal mass or abscess, in 103 patients that comprise 43,6% of patients who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy. Laparoscopic operation alone was performed in 99 cases while 4 (3,9%) patients required conversion to laparotomy. Total complications amounted to 9,7%, rehospitalization was needed in 3,9% of patients. Laparoscopic appendectomy for acute destructive appendicitis complicated by peritonitis, periappendiceal mass or abscess appeared to be quite feasible and relatively safe surgery.
