Abstract:

Aim. The objective of the present work was to study the nutritional preferences of the students and to evaluate the risk of gaining excessive weight. Material and methods. A total of 239 college students were interviewed to elucidate their nutritional preferences. Simultaneously, their anthropometric characteristics were obtained and a bio-impedance study carried out. Results. The results of the study give evidence of the relationship between the eating behaviour and such anthropometric characteristics as age, sex, waist and lower leg circumference. Moreover, the nutritional preferences were shown to depend on the water content in the body.
