Abstract:

The present review articles deals with the indications for the surgical treatment of chronic tonsillitis and dynamics of the frequency of interventions on the tonsils. Various methods of surgical treatment including monopolar/bipolar electrocautery, cold steel dissection, harmonic scalpel, and bipolar radiofrequency ablation are discussed. The data on the frequency of bleeding during tonsillectomy are presented.
