Abstract:

Sagittal sinus thrombosis (SSC), which causes 0.5—1.0% of all ischemic strokes, is more common in pregnant women, as well as in women taking oral contraceptives, and young people under the age of 45. The most common symptoms include headache, impaired consciousness, epileptic seizures, and focal neurological deficit. SSC is a severe neurological disease with unfavorable functional outcomes. An analysis of the clinical observation of a patient with venous sinus thrombosis and the development of ischemic infarction detected during pregnancy is presented. This example touches upon the issues of thromboprophylaxis and management tactics of a pregnant woman. Due to timely diagnosis, timely delivery, and conservative anticoagulant treatment, a pronounced positive trend was achieved with favorable perinatal and neurological outcomes.
