Objective — to improve the efficiency of treatment in reproductive-aged patients with endometrial and endocervical polyps, by using mini-hysteroscopy. Subject and methods. Clinical and laboratory examinations, transvaginal ultrasound scanning, and treatment were performed in 90 reproductive-aged patients with endocervical and endometrial polyps. Group 1 included 70 patients with endometrial polyps; Group 2 consisted of 20 patients with cervical canal polyps. Minimally invasive treatments were performed applying a mini-hysteroscope and laser radiation and they did not required cervical traumatization or, in some cases, anesthesia. Results. All the patients had no complications resulting from the use of mini-hysteroscopy and polypectomy in the cervical canal and uterine cavity by continuous laser radiation at wavelength of 1.06 µm. The surgical duration was 10.7±4 min; the length of hospital stay was 1.4±0.4 days. Office mini-hysteroscopy following 2—3 menstrual cycles after interventions revealed no intrauterine pathology in all the patients; ultrasound showed no polyp recurrence during a year. Pregnancy occurred in 43 patients after treatment: in 16 women spontaneously and in 27 after in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer programs. Conclusion. The proposed minimally invasive treatment may be promising in patients with infertility, in particular before the in vitro fertilization programs. The authors declare no conflicts of interest.
