Abstract:

The paper generalizes the results of recent researches into the etiology, pathogenesis, classifications, and clinical manifestations of chronic kidney disease in pregnant women. It presents the causes of the development and progression of chronic renal failure during pregnancy. The glomerular filtration rate that is estimated, by calculating endogenous creatinine clearance during Reberg's test, is emphasized to be a valid and reliable indicator of renal functional capacity. The frequency and pattern of obstetric and perinatal complications and outcomes of pregnancy in patients with chronic kidney disease are described.
