Diagnostic office hysteroscopy was carried out in 80 reproductive-age infertile patients. The pattern of extent of intrauterine adhesions was defined; complete obliteration of the uterine cavity was detected in 45 patients. Intrauterine synechiae were destroyed by Nd-YAG laser irradiation on day 5-8 of the menstrual cycle. Office hysteroscopy has been established to be the highly effective outpatient method to diagnose and treat intrauterine pathology in reproductive-age women, which requires no anesthesia and may be used as a screening tool in infertile women. Office hysteroscopy can serve as a technique of monitoring the uterine cavity in the postoperative period.
