For prenatal diagnosis of anatomical and chromosomal defects of fetal development, the Medical Genetic Department, Moscow Regional Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, proposes Russia's fundamentally new organizational and methodological algorithms for the examination of pregnant women: to give pregnant women a standard ticket at the maternity clinics for this examination in the recommended periods (11-14 weeks) of the first trimester of pregnancy in the specially made interterritorial, district, and regional prenatal diagnosis rooms (centers) by ultrasound specialists who have an international certificate for this kind of activity. Measures have been elaborated within the innovation program for the prenatal examination of pregnant women. In accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the new project will be launched in 3 pilot areas: the Moscow, Rostov, and Tomsk Regions.
