Abstract:

Aim — to analyze working conditions and factors affecting the development of chronic fatigue syndrome based on literature data. Material and methods. Literature analysis in peer-reviewed domestic and foreign publications and in databases «E-library», «Medline». Results. Based on literature data, we studied the features of dentists’ work and the professional pathologies, leading to the development of chronic fatigue syndrome. Today, dental profession is a high-risk field because of work intensity, the need for precise manipulations, a high incidence rate and increased emotional stress, leading to the development of prolonged persistent fatigue. Conclusions. The development of chronic fatigue syndrome, musculoskeletal system diseases, excessive stress of analyzer systems, emotional stress may all lead to a significant decrease of effectiveness and safety of dental care and, eventually, may result in lower quality of life for the patient and the doctor.
