Aim. Conduct a comparative analysis of the antimicrobial and cytokine profile of the oral and gingival fluid in pregnant women with chronic generalized periodontitis for varying degrees of severity. Materials and methods. A concentration of antimicrobial peptides (AMP) (α-defensins 1-3, catelicidin LL-37) and interleukins (IL) was determined in 31 healthy pregnant women and 63 pregnant women with chronic generalized periodontitis (CGR) of mild and moderate severity in oral fluid and gingival fluid IL-4, IL-8, IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) by the method of enzyme immunoassay. Results. In pregnant patients without dental pathology, the accumulation of AMP predominantly occurred in the oral fluid. In the presence of CGP, the concentration of AMP is more severe and more closely related to the severity of the disease in the gingival fluid. In the biological environment of the oral cavity in pregnant women with the development of CGP of mild and moderate severity, there was an increase in the cytokines IL4 and IL-10, which promote the activation of humoral defense reactions. In CGP, weighted from mild to moderate severity, cytotoxic cell-mediated immune responses were activated primarily due to the pronounced increase in TNF-α in the gingival fluid. Conclusion. The most informative for moderate and moderate HCV in pregnant women is the measurement of the concentration of cathelicidin LL-37 in the oral and gingival fluid, as well as TNF-α in the gingival fluid.
