Rhinosinusitis is not usually a dangerous condition, but it can substantially decrease one's quality of life (QoL). Evaluation of patients with rhinosinusitis should include a complete ENT anamnesis, nasal examination, computed tomography data, and QoL assessment. The severity of rhinosinusitis can be measured and compared to controls using generic questionnaires. Specific questionnaires are more sensitive than generic ones when it comes to certain diseases such as rhinosinusitis. This article reviews the available QoL instruments that have been used in clinical trials for the treatment of acute and chronic rhinosinusitis. According to studies, available tools to quantify the impact of rhinosinusitis show a worsening of QoL, while available treatments lead to improvement.
