OBJECTIVE

Analysis of the relationship between the applications of methods of personalized rehabilitation programs and quality of life in patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A controlled clinical study was conducted with the inclusion of 140 patients with prostate cancer (PC) who underwent laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. All patients became participants in alternative rehabilitation programs — personalized and standard. Efficiency analysis was carried out with the definition of indicators of changes for a period of one year.

RESULTS

The use of a personalized program of perioperative care, i.e. care for the patient in the period from the moment of making the decision to use surgical treatment until restoration of work capacity, provided decrease in the frequency and intensity of complications such as urinary disorders, pain intensity, impaired nutritional status, unstable psycho-emotional condition, complication or formation of comorbid conditions, other in words, helped improve significant parameters of the quality of life of patients after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.

CONCLUSION

The formation and introduction into routine clinical practice of urological departments and departments of early rehabilitation of oncological institutions of a personalized rehabilitation contributes to an increase in the long-term quality of life of patients with resectable prostate cancer due to the directed complex adaptation of the patient to the conditions of treatment and disease.
